Biomedical Interfaces
The response of biological systems to synthetic materials is determined by interactions at the interface in-between. This lecture develops important concepts for understanding and controlling these interactions on the nanoscale. It highlights selected biomedical applications and serves as an introduction to biomaterials research and tissue engineering.
Frontiers in Nanotechnology
Many disciplines are meeting at the nanoscale, from physics, chemistry to engineering, from the life sciences to medicine. The course will prepare students to communicate more effectively across disciplinary boundaries, and will provide them with deep insights into the various frontiers.
